Ingredients:
1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 5-6 lemons)
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
2 tablespoons grated ginger
4 cups cold water
1/2 - 3/4 cup honey or sugar (adjust according to taste)
Ice cubes
Lemon slices and extra mint leaves for garnish
Sparkling water (optional, for a fizzy touch)
Instructions:
Prepare Lemon Juice:
Squeeze the lemons to get 1 cup of juice. Strain to the remove seeds and excess pulp.
Infuse Mint and Ginger:
In a saucepan, add 1 cup of water, grated ginger, and mint leaves. Bring it to a simmer and then turn off the heat. Let it a steep for about 20 minutes.
Make Sweetener Syrup:
In another saucepan, combine honey or sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat gently, stirring until the sweetener dissolves completely. Remove from a heat and let it cool.
Combine Ingredients:
Strain the mint-ginger infusion into a large pitcher. Add the lemon juice and sweetener syrup. Mix well.
Dilute with Water:
Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water. Stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness or lemon intensity as needed.
Chill:
Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 1 hour to enhance the flavors.
Serve with Ice:
Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the lemonade over the ice. For a fizzy version, top with a little sparkling water.
Garnish and Enjoy:
Garnish each glass with a lemon slice and a sprig of mint.
