Ingredients:
2 cups ripe mango, chopped (fresh or canned)
1-1/2 cups thick plain yogurt
1/2 cup milk (can use almond or soy milk for a vegan option)
1/4 cup sugar or honey (adjust according to taste)
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
A pinch of saffron strands (optional)
1 teaspoon rose water (optional)
Ice cubes
Chopped pistachios or dried rose petals for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare Mango:
If using fresh mangoes, peel and chop them into chunks. For canned mangoes, drain the syrup.
Blend Ingredients:
In a blender, combine the chopped mango, yogurt, milk, sugar/honey, ground cardamom, and saffron strands. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Add Rose Water:
Add the rose water (if using) and blend again for a few seconds.
Adjust Consistency:
If the lassi is too thick, you can add a little more milk to reach your desired consistency.
Chill:
For the best flavor, chill the lassi in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Serve with Ice:
Serve the Spiced Mango Lassi over ice cubes in tall glasses.
