Ingredients:
4 cups fresh sugarcane juice (extracted from sugarcane sticks)
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/2 lime, juiced
1 inch ginger, grated
A pinch of salt
2-3 mint leaves (optional)
Ice cubes
Lemon or lime slices for garnish
A pinch of black salt or chaat masala for an extra kick (optional)
Instructions:
Extract Sugarcane Juice:
If you have access to fresh sugarcane, peel it and use a juicer to extract the juice. If not, freshly extracted sugarcane juice from a vendor works perfectly.
Infuse with Citrus and Ginger:
In a large pitcher, combine the fresh sugarcane juice with lemon juice, lime juice, and grated ginger. Stir well to mix.
Add Flavors:
Add a pinch of regular salt. If using, tear the mint leaves and add them to the pitcher for a refreshing twist.
Chill the Juice:
Refrigerate the juice for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Serve Chilled:
Serve the sugarcane juice over ice cubes in tall glasses. Stir well before serving.
Garnish:
Garnish each glass with a slice of lemon or lime.
Optional Kick:
For those who enjoy a bit of spice, sprinkle a pinch of black salt or chaat masala over the juice before serving.
